INTER-SCHOOLS DEBATING CHAMPIONSHIP 2018

The finals of the Inter-Schools Debating Championship 2018 which was jointly organized by the Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (IPM) and the Borella Education Division was held on the 3rd of April 2018 at Ananda College, Colombo.

25 leading schools in Colombo, participated in this Championship and I am proud to announce that Wesley College, Senior Sinhala Debate Team emerged as the Champions in front of an audience who crowded into the Ananda College Hall to witness this event.

The final debate was between St. Bridgets Convent and Wesley College. The Debate topic for the finals was “ The Process of personal development centred around the family unit”

Our team of 5 have shown that hard work, a fantastic team spirit is a great recipe for success. We hope their success will inspire many other young people to take up debating. Our appreciation goes out to the Master-in-Charge, Mr. Dayaratne for his dedication and untiring efforts.
