Wesley College Colombo bagged the boys  championships of the Blue and Gold Hockey Sevens tournament organized by Royal College Hockey Club which concluded at Reid Avenue recently. In the final Wesley College outplayed Vijaya College Matale by three goals to nil to emerge victorious.
The boys final seemed to be a one sided affair as the lads from Campbell Park took the lead through a goal by Aaqil Azmi followed by beautiful goal scored by Nihaad Nazoor to give them a good 2 – 0 lead before the lemons. The lads from Matale missed the golden opportunities of scoring in throughout the match and their strokes at goal through short and long corners were sent astray. The resumption saw the Wesleyites holding their opponents under pressure and increased their lead through a goal by their play maker Imad Muzammil to make it 3 – 0 win for the lads from Campbell Park. The 2 day Blue & Gold tournament saw 55 teams around the island taking part which comprised 33 boys schools & 22 girls schools. The girls tournament was won by Janadhipathi MV, Nawala.

  5. Finals – Beat Vijaya College, Matale 3 – 0 (Nihad, Aaqil, Imad)

Wesley’s Imad Muzzamil was adjudged the most outstanding player in the boys category.

Wesley College Colombo and Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya Nawala bagged the boys and girls championships of the Blue and Gold Hockey Sevens tournament organized by Royal College Hockey Club which concluded at Reid Avenue recently. Wesleyites outplayed Vijaya College Matale by three goals to nil to emerge victorious and the new comers Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya Nawala came out winners with a two nil win over Musaeus College Colombo .
