SL Schools Novices Championships

38 swimmers participated at the SL Schools Novices Championships with only 6 months of squad training. 121 schools took part with over 982 swimmers with an average of appox 60 to 70 swimmers in each event. We represented in all the age groups covering from under 9 to under 19years.  Noteworthy performances as follows;

• Shamod Athulathmudali 3rd 50mts breast stroke,  12th 4x50mts ind medley, 21st 50mts butterfly
• Under 15yrs Shuhail Kitchlan 25th 50mts free style under 17yrs
• Murtaz & Nabeel Barry were closely placed in the 50mts back stroke and 50mts breast stroke under 11 and 9.

The rest of all the swimmers improved their timings tremendously which is an excellent effort. Sri Lanka Swimming Association Novices Championships 2013 held on Feb 28th & March 1st at the Sugathadasa Indoor Pool
