PROJECT නුவna : A step towards a complete education in rural areas

From the beginning, the Interact Club of Wesley College has grown to be one of the most active and innovative Clubs in the school carrying out projects in all the avenues of service.

This year the Interact Club of Wesley College initiated a project called PROJECT නුவna to open a Library at a rural school in the district of Nuwara Eliya. After much deliberation and research, the Board decided to implement the project at Madduma Bandara Maha Vidyalaya, a school which was in dire need of such resources.

With this object in mind, the Board of the Interact Club initiated a program to collect the most essential items which were the books necessary for the Library, through the members of their Club. The bigger required essentials were financed through the funds which were accumulated by the Club by prior fund raising projects.

This project was successfully carried out over a period of 2 days – 29th and 30th of January 2018.

Special THANK YOU goes out to the wonderful Teacher in Charge, Mrs. M. Kumari and to the students.
